A beautiful shot. The foreground clouds balance nicely with the crest line, and the harsh edges suggest power and strength that resist against the mountain storms. The composition lets the eye move smoothly around the image, taking in the multitude of craggy details concealed on the mountain slope. The clouds and the presence of the chalet on the crest help provide depth and the sheer sense of scale for the spectacular setting. The lighting is a off for my taste, as I would have liked to have seen a little more of the fluffiness of the near ground clouds, and exploited the contrast in the rock and snow on the left of the photo, but I imagine it took a great deal of patience to wait for the sun to break through the cloud cover.
I love the other-worldly purple/blue shades and the contrasting textures of the jagged rocks, the silky-looking snow and the smokey clouds. Fantastic exposure too. I can imagine the clouds soon covering the mountain giving the image the feeling that you have captured what is just a fleeting moment.
