Echoes Of The Night _ II by alexandre-deschaumes Echoes Of The Night _ II by alexandre-deschaumes
I need some helps about this picture ..

Color version , with the 'Lee big stopper' filter ( ND1000 ) is a bit odd .. too cold , too bright blues .. I think .. Now I've darkened the scene and removed saturation .
I prefer this version ..

But there is also the total BW version here : [link]

And the previous color version of course :

If you have an idea , just tell me the advise. thank you ;)
For me it's probably this version the best one , but I'm still lost

This shows the devil's peaks " aiguilles du diable " just beside the "mont blanc" in Chamonix .. taken at evening with a big ND filter to reach 30 seconds on the scene ... creation the movement on the fast-moving clouds ... embracing the mountains.

I like the this one better than the full-color version, but the totally b/w is even better. Again, this is just my personal taste. Great capture btw!

The hint of colour in this version adds something... intangible. Great image! Thanks for sharing! :)

Aloha,

Although I think that each version has its own unique appeal I prefer the B&W version. To me, it feels the most powerful and evokes the most emotion. It reminds me of the times I've shot in color and the photograph looked like it was shot in B&W.

I really appreciate your work. It inspires me to learn more about digital photography.

This is one of those photos where the more I look at it, the more I see and the more I love it! :aww:
Initially, I thought I liked the drama of the B&W better, but I have been staring at this one for a while and I can’t stop staring! =)
Seriously, the bluish-gray of the clouds in this one is so soft, and the deep blue of the sky just draws me into it. It still has the fabulous contrast of the black and white, but the touch of color in the clouds and subtle sky, in my opinion, is what really makes this one work well.

!

Looking at all three versions, I do like this one best. In the previous color version, the lighter blue sky takes the eye away from the mountain. In the B&W, the gray sky blends too much with the surrounding clouds. This version creates a good balance between B&W tones in the mountain and clouds, and color in the sky. The blue is dark enough that our eye is drawn where it should be, to the light on the mountain.

Definitely like this one better than the full color version. It just works better. The B&W is also lovely, but I think I prefer this one. This one seems to preserve more detail in the mountains, the snow, and clouds without losing that surreal feel of the B&W version. :)

The darkness of the black and white version gives it such impact that it would have to get my vote, but then again I just love such dramatic mono work. I know it's not everyone's taste.

I'd prefer the black an white verison simply because it feels more majestic and doesn't let one single patch of color dominate the image and distract from the mountains. And furthermore it has some of that Ansel Adams feeling to it. ;)

It looks grey and sleepy, old and mysterious without the vibrant blue. I feel like some old norse gods might come creeping out of the mist. I prefer this version. :iconhappyhappyplz:
