Land of the Dead by alexandre-deschaumes Land of the Dead by alexandre-deschaumes
Mathieu Lelay , working, in front of this otherworldly landscape. The stronghold/mountains smoke as volcanoes

I enjoyed this scene a lot for its atmosphere.

This is mount Fitz Roy at lago de Los Tres. South Argentina .

This is a staggeringly beautiful and lonely place.
I adore the colour of the clouds "hanging" over the mountains. It make's it seem more desolate and lonely.
I also love the contrast of how the light and dark. You've taken this picture spectacularly. The gentleman in the picture also compliment's the feel of it being a lonely place as he's all alone in the darkness. "Shrouded" in shadows as it were.

I have only one thought that could be improved. The sharpness of the rocks by the pool is a little low. It could do with being brought out. To give the picture even more texture.

I can't complain though really. This picture is amazing!
Keep up the fantastic work.

First thing that strikes me is the light reflecting off the mountains which look so unreal, as is as you said it is not of this world. I love the calm of the water, its almost as if you could walk upon it. the amount of detail is unreal its beyond many photographs. Just looking at the water and the mountains make you lose reality and the sky brings it crushing back down with a breath of bathing light. Its a brilliant mix of both subtle colour and light and dark. I feel that the mountains just look untouched and i think it gives them a quality that should be preserved for more imagery like this.

Not sure if I'm entirely sold on the title, but I love the photo itself, which is very well done. Living in Alaska, I see quite a few breathtaking scenes while hiking in the mountains, but this is impressive!
