I haven't seen a landscape photo as good as this one in a long, long time.
The sharpness of the image alone is enough to give one pause, but that's not even half of it.
Firstly, you have to ask yourself, where was this taken, who are these people lucky enough to go there and take photos? That's excellent visual narrative to begin with.
Secondly, the composition and lighting are truly breathtaking, and really just keep one's eyes fixed on the image, and again, the lone pure black silhouette of the photographer in the foreground really just piles up the narrative, and adds layers of artistry. Is this a photo? or the story of someone taking one? These are the types of questions that arise-and this is what makes the image so great.
The semi-warm colour of the clouds and sunset, paired with the cool tones of the icy mountain caps just gives a great palette contrast which just helps the light and dark tonal values and their composition alongs quite well.
I must congratulate you, because this is just purely breathtaking.
Left on the photo you see a (probably) man trying to make a photo of this vieuw, You can't see any detail only his form. After the man you see a wonderfull place in the mountens, left on the top a colourfull sky. if you then go to the left it is increasingly darker. The man is on the coulorfull part of the picture, this is also the first place where my eyers where looking.
I like this photo because of the atmoshere, the dark side and light side are well in balanced. It give me a feeling of emptiness, lonely, peace. I get this picture by the idea that the man was looking for peace, away from the world.
I'm very jealous, I would be happy to see this with my own eyes.
Not sure if I'm entirely sold on the title, but I love the photo itself, which is very well done. Living in Alaska, I see quite a few breathtaking scenes while hiking in the mountains, but this is impressive!
great shot and atmosphere! I well remember the place and sight from about 30 years ago. congratulation for the well deserved DD! stay both well! Michael
Really an outstanding nature work!!! Light and colors are almost surreal. The photographer gives the image life and a fantastic depth sensation! Composition is great, to. Congrats for this great achievement.
