Lunar Strain by alexandre-deschaumes Lunar Strain by alexandre-deschaumes
I 'm not sure but ... I feel something "not of this earth" here .. Like something from Space ( ? ! ) I really enjoyed the very wild ice place .. with strange textures and lines coming towards me . I chose the very wide lense to capture this sensation of immensity ..

This is the evening light from 'tracuit' shelter .. 3200 m In the swiss alps .. the day after we woke up at 4.30 Am to reach the "Bishorn " summit , 4150 m

:)

This is Amazing! Indeed very other-worldly, and an excellently captured shot! And I really like how everything is a bit dark & grey except for the mountains where the sunlight hits them. :D Marvelous!

Totally in love with mountains, specially swiss moutains, Wallis is one of the most beautifull place in world. If you really want to see lunar place, go to the "Pas de Lona" above Evolène. I find it very amazing. :D

For a second, I wondered if this was a manipulation simply because it really did look like a shot from space... until I saw the mountains and clouds... :P At a first glance though it is very deceiving!

Yes very 'space' indeed! I love this view, the angle is very fitting.

If I wouldn't have read your comment, my question would be 'is this earth?' hehe!

Very good!

ps: my name is Sieger Joostens, you also read some words from me on 1X ;) cheers!

Very fitting name indeed although I didn't really like the old IF stuff to much. Seems like I really need to get into the alps as soon as possible. I really love your mountain shots to say the least. ;)

I'm no talent on critiquing photos, but I can tell you at first I was wondering why it was in the photography category just from seeing the thumbnail, since it looked like a picture done of the curvature of the earth with an explosion in the upper right, a science fiction piece. But then I open it, and read the description and it makes sense, and it is breathtaking. There is a lot of clarity in this piece, and just where it is needed. Clarity in the ice in the front would not get the overall texture of the ice. Very glad you came down safely. Keep up the great work!
