From our latest workshop in the Alps. this view was done with 200 mm .. and slightly de saturated , with warm white balance .. giving the impression of an ominous gate towards another world . I've croped it Square and slightly darkened the scene.
A perfectly taken photograph. The level of detail of the mountains texture is fantastic. High level of contrast is found throughout the image which draws the eye to the centre of the image. The clouds at the top of the image seem to help to divide the sky while also allowing a dark contrasting area from the snow. Shadows from the clouds behind the photographer help to reflect the clouds at the top of the image and both of these elements together help to make a frame around the mountain. Lines from the mountain draw the eye from the left to the central image while the lines on the right move up to the central point and lead out of the image, but due to the spiral, this is reversed, thus aiding in keeping the viewers eyes on the main focal point. A magnificent piece of photography.
