I love the underlying theme that runs throughout most of your work Alexandre: the formidable spectacle of nature with its terrible beauty and the insurmountable peril for those who pit themselves against its sheer power. This sensibility is the essence of Romanticism, much like the the nineteenth century poets who's work contain similar themes. I am also reminded of the master painter Turner from the English tradition who painted all the element of nature air sky and water in one magnificent swirl. The frozen ice in this particular work is suggestive of frozen or stagnant emotions; the tiny figure is dwarfed, appearing almost overwhelmed. One wonders of his fate. The impact hits you like a wave. This is a strong work of powerful vision.
